Who we are
…God has set the members each one of them in the body, even as it pleased Him. (I Corinthians 12:18)
About 100 Christians meet at Keystone Bible Chapel on a regular basis. We are thankful to the Lord for each and every member He has placed in our local assembly. We pray that He would add to that number as it pleases Him, for His honor and glory.
About 60 of us are adults, representing many ages and situations in life: young singles, young married couples, families with children, older couples (some with grown children in fellowship), and widows. Some were born and raised here in Omaha; others have moved to Omaha from other places in the Midwest, from other parts of the United States, or even from other countries (India, for example).
We come from a variety of religious backgrounds. Some of us were raised in non-Christian homes, some in nominally Christian homes, some in godly Christian homes. Some were raised in traditions like Catholicism and Lutheranism. Some of us believed on the Lord Jesus as children; others of us put our faith in Christ as adults. Now we are all united in our belief in the gospel and in our intent to obey the Lord. We want to fulfill His will as He graciously enables us.
The Lord has blessed our assembly with about 40 children, ranging in age from infancy through young adulthood. It is our desire, in our families and in our church, to raise our children in the "nurture and admonition of the Lord" (Ephesians 6:4). By teaching, and most importantly, by example, we encourage our children to pursue God and His things.
…the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus; who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds. (Titus 2:11-14)
We, the people who gather at Keystone Bible Chapel, have believed on the Lord Jesus Christ. We have been saved by His grace. This is the sort of people we hope to be: those who submit to the Lord's instruction, who deny ungodliness, who pursue righteousness, who look for the blessed hope, who are diligent in good deeds.
